It's dynamic and some backgrounds are 3Dish, you can really see that they used the Genesis to it's fullest potential. The controls just feels right. There are many moves to choose from for the playable character, like sliding and grabbing. There are also many weapons to choose from, mainly because you are able to combine them. This makes the game very replayable. Also, there are four different difficulties, from easy to expert. If normal mode is too easy, you can always try hard mode.
Besides that, there is a two-player mode, which should be alot of fun as well.Great variety in levels, you do crazy stuff. The best part is probably the many bosses, as you obviously need different strategies and find different weaknesses for each boss. Also, wanna play a board game? This game has it, also playable with a second player!.The Bad Points. There are alot of bosses, which is fine. But some of theme are boring, especially in the fourth level, where some of them don't even attack.Altough character designs are fine for the most part, there are ofcourse some lazy ones, especially bosses. The story isn't bad, but not impressive.
It involes the four Mystical Gems, which are stolen by the bad guys. This concept is used in many games, so not really original. Ofcourse, you play the game for the awesome action and gameplay.Informations.The plot in the western version is a bit different from the Japanese versions. The Japanese version is considered to be canon, because the sequel (Gunstar Super Heroes for GBA) takes place after the Japanese one, not the western one.The developers, Treasure, used to work on Konami games, which were great at the time (RIP Konami). So if you like the old Konami games, you will definitely like this game, plus the other great games Treasure made.References and Links.Gallery.
